Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? by Bill Martin

Hey Girls,

This book is a wonderful children's picture book. It is for very young children, and when I was reading it, I instantly come to the conculsion that it is meant to be read to children.

The book follows the same pattern throughout the whole story, for example "Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?  I see a redbird looking at me...". It continues to do the same pattern throughout the whole story introducing new characters each time.

As this pattern is repeated over and over again, students are able to join in, even though they are unable to read. Children will quickly learn this pattern, and they are able to predict the next animal that they can see, as it is displayed on the page.

Also the animals that are in this book, are common things that a child would know, as they are apart of their everyday experiences.

Teresa.
